This is Break Yo Bales coming to you from a Sanctuary on the D2R Discord. On this relatively quick episode, we discuss version 3.3 patch for season 15, and then we talk about some posts from the subreddit. Enjoy. The very next day, Blizzard announced the season 15 patch and details. So uh we thought it would be worthwhile to take a few minutes to kind of talk about some of that stuff um and a few other things. So today we're joined, as always, with uh Terial and Crude. We're just gonna kind of run down through the patch notes uh and talk about that for a little bit. Uh and I guess worth mentioning latter season 14 ends Monday 8.17 at 11 a.m. So that would be 8 a.m. Eastern. Um, and then season 15 starts Friday, 8.21, so there's a few days in between. Um, and that starts at 5 p.m. PDT or 8 p.m. Eastern. So for the patch notes, previous ladder-only items will be available in non-ladder with the new season. Items that have been listed below, which have been changed, will only be available in ladder. Reign of the warlock only. Items will not be changed for d2 classic or excuse me, Lord of Destruction. So the the changes only affect Reign of the Warlock. The following uh previous run words um will now be able to be made on non-ladder. That's how I interpret that. So uh mania, hysteria, metamorphosis, ground, temper, hearth, cure, and bulwark. Um, those were ladder only, and those are those will be shifting to uh being able to be made on non-ladder as well. Um beyond that, and I guess just a quick note usually when that happens, it means they're gonna introduce new rune words kind of thing. I mean, I guess it does historically it sometimes means that. Um, but yeah, we'll we'll see what happens there. Um, and then they interestingly made changes to a bunch of low-level items uniques that uh they've buffed to some, yeah, I guess in every case. But I'll I'll just kind of briefly run through this. So Blood Letter is getting uh 20% faster run walk, which is which is good. It's a really good low-level barb item. I'm sure Crewed will enjoy that. And then Battle Branch had reduced base item level from 34 to 30 and reduce required level um from 25 to 17, so they uh reduce the base item level and the required level. I guess make it more viable early on. You get into like 25, 26, and you're already looking at using spirit, which blows everything away.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it looked to me like they they lowered them so that you can actually get some use out of that uh item. Yes, you transition to spirit and you have something to use for those 10 levels.
SPEAKER_02Roguesbow added one to three, either cold or fire arrow. Um, so a little buff for Amazons early on. Um essentially, I think their intention here was just to kind of make early game a little easier, make those items that you find along the way, you usually just throw them away, makes them more viable. So pluckeye added 25% increased attack speed, Bane Ash removed 20% increased attack speed, removed 50 to 60 enhanced damage, and added faster cat 20 faster cast rate, which is an interesting, um, interesting change. So they've they're they're like moving it away from physical and making it more caster based. Gravespine added 10% faster cast rate, uh Blink Bats form increased uh to 10% faster run walk, increased that to 30% and added one uh mana per kill. Ward added one socket, and then this is a kind of an interesting one. So Mantled Heal. Uh originally when they posted the patch notes on the 7th, uh up until late yesterday, it read added 10% faster run walk. And I think that it sounded kind of cool, like because there actually aren't any rings in the game that give faster run walk, so it was kind of an interesting dynamic that could change the meta in some way for some builds, you know, to have the uh mana leech and and life and and you know increased mana pool. Like that was kind of cool with a 10% faster run walk. Like that could be really good for uh interesting for barbs or other melee classes, but then uh late yesterday they quietly updated the patch note to show faster cast rate, um, which obviously then means that it's uh geared towards caster only.
SPEAKER_01If it still has the mana per kill though, the mana leech rather, I see it more as dual as a dual threat. Well, or you know, I mean, you know, your your melee classes could still use it for the for the mana leech, it's just you know, maybe the faster cast rate is lost on them, but I I I kind of see it as being more versatile for for both types.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean I guess that's true, but I mean the the point being that they added 10% FCR, the original stats on it remain the same for melee. Like you yeah, you get the mana leech, right? Yeah, so I guess to me this means that the intention is for it to be used for um characters that do physical damage, but also use FCR. So what is that?
SPEAKER_01There are a few. Uh jab is not not jab, uh there's an assassin, I think, that benefits from the double dips.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and and the yeah, the uh echoing strike.
SPEAKER_01Echoing strike, yep.
SPEAKER_02Warlock.
SPEAKER_00So um curious if that was actually a typo or if there was some internal test. Yeah, that's a good point where they where they decided that it wasn't gonna work that way.
SPEAKER_02I'm initially thinking that it was just a typo. They probably meant they probably meant faster cast rate, cast rate input, faster run walk instead, but but it's possible that they decided to change it.
SPEAKER_01I would have liked to have seen a red line through that though, and and uh and another line underneath it though.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, I agree. It was kind of a stealth change, yeah. Kind of weird, but not something you see. I've never seen them do that. Alright, so last one up, uh the angelic Rainment set. Um they on the sickle they added uh plus six damage for three set items. So they upped the bonus there. Uh angelic mantle added 100% damage to undead for three set items, and then a full set bonus of plus one to all skill. So I guess overall, uh, like I had mentioned, this is all low-level increases on items to make them more viable early on. And even still, like the angelic rain mint. Um, I know there are barb builds that that use that because there's a lot of good bonuses on there, I think for like attack rating and stuff. So interesting. Interesting. One thing that um I saw pointed out, which I initially hadn't thought about what it seems like they're doing here, and I don't have any proof to back this up, but uh it kind of seems like uh they're changing stuff uh like the type of affixes that they're they're doing. Um each one is different. There's there are no repeats, and it seems like they're kind of testing all the different options to see if maybe there's breaking changes to like live production once it once it goes uh out and people are using it to to see if they're you know, maybe they're kind of testing it uh to see if you know maybe there's any hiccups or anything from changing that. So to me, I guess overall, uh it's a low-risk way of seeing if they can continue to make additional changes. I don't know, I don't know how much stock I put in this, but but it does seem very specific. They never do anything by accident, so there's gotta be some larger goal beyond, hey, we're we're just gonna buff a bunch of low-level items.
SPEAKER_01And I think the the key part of there, the the biggest clue there, I think, is blink bat's form. It's such a rare find. You know, it's it's usually one of the later uniques that are found for a lot of people's uh chronicles and and or you know, previously the Grails. To specify that armor in particular, I thought it was interesting because there are low-level armors that drop much more often that if you wanted to specifically target an item for a test, you know, like I don't know, say Eisenhart's case or Hawk Mail, you know, which drop you know much more frequently. Yeah. But Hawkmail is a little bit higher level, but blink bats, it's you can use it as early as I think level three. It's uh I believe that's the unique quilted armor, if I'm not mistaken. Okay, leather armor, yeah. And I'm curious, are are they also gonna make a subtle stealth change to how much it drops as well? And I wonder, and and that was my that's the one that really got me. The other items are fairly common. Pluck eye's pretty rare too. Uh Metal Branch drops for probably almost every character at some point. You know, I wonder why they would pick items that typically aren't found uh to do that on. So that's the part that really got my head scratching.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it'd be it'd be interesting. Like we may look back and go, oh, that would make sense. Yeah, yeah. But but you know, everything is cryptic these days. So uh next up, um terror zoneslash colossal ancients had some changes. So increased chance of dropping rare quality and higher items from Herald Tiers 3 plus. So yeah, so that means they're basically they're buffing T3 plus, so you'll actually have a chance of getting something better than a blue or a couple blues. Uh, that's great. Uh, minimum drop level for latent sunder charms increased from 69 to 75, which I think I I you know I saw some people grumbling about this, but it it makes sense. Basically, they're shifting sunder charms into hell only. I honestly would have preferred that it that it was uh in tz only, but maybe they just don't maybe they don't have a mechanic to do that easily. They'd have to come up with something. I'm not sure, but but essentially that what this does is it moves moves it out of nightmare and into hell only, which I think is right. Um, but again, I think it should be a tz. Uh reduce the drop rate of lunder, uh, excuse me, latent sunder charms when using magic find. And they have a note here that says the herald drop rate is unaffected. I think this change is good. We'll have to see how it kind of plays out. But to me, what this means is you'll have more of a chance of finding geeds.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. Same thought I had.
SPEAKER_02So they they shift the the effect of magic find for Sunder Charms away, which creates space uh for for geeds. Because like right now, geeds are super rare, and I know the the like their room cost has gone up substantially with with this last season. So this should this should make it uh make geeds a little less rare.
SPEAKER_00I'm assuming for sure we're talking about the charm as opposed to wager.
SPEAKER_02Correct, yes, yes, the the unique charm. And then we've got latent sunder charms dropped through magic find to now only drop in hell difficulty.
SPEAKER_01Uh again, it's kind of redundant to the yeah, yeah, it's self-explanatory for the to the item to the well, no, that's not true. Yeah, because I guess there are some bosses in a nightmare tz that can be level 77. So they would get blocked out. So you couldn't farm nightmare bail tz to get uh Sunder.
SPEAKER_02Correct, yeah. That basically again that's kind of they're closing a loophole when uh Sunder Charms dropping in Nightmare. An additional item will now drop alongside a world excuse me, Worldstone Shard, which great. So essentially they've moved the Worldstone Shard from I'm not sure like the mechanic that they're using, but it sounds like they moved the Worldstone Shard into its own like loot table or um yeah, I guess essentially makes it so that it doesn't take the place of another drop.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_02Uh which I think is a good change. Um, reduce the drop rate of Worldstone shards, reduce the drop rate of ancient statues. I wish they would have been more clear on what the actual rate change is.
SPEAKER_00Is it 525?
SPEAKER_02Right, yeah, right. I mean, my guess is it's only a few percentage points, but I mean the shards and the statues were dropping very often. So oh yeah, you can see it in our people and our Discord, they post it and they got like 99 to some, like okay, yeah, like yeah, so I again saw people pissed off about that on you know the Blizzard Forums, Reddit, so on so forth. It's yet to be seen what what that actually translates to.
SPEAKER_01I didn't feel like the statues drop extreme amount shards for sure. Definitely I I can I can get I can go get on board with a reduction in their drop rate because even even casual farmer like me, you know, an hour or two a night, uh, I've got on my non-ladder, I've got at least 20 of every one. Yeah. Um, yeah, there and and like if if you if you pop a shard for a zone, you're gonna pick up three more.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, and like honestly, I played the other day for like 30 minutes, so just popped on, and I found three shards. Like within 30 minutes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. That's a wee high.
SPEAKER_02Just a little bit. Yeah, it is. So so again, we'll see. I again I wish they would have been more specific. Uh, I think that part matters, but we'll have to wait and see how things play out. So then there were some bug fixes. Um, various stability and performance improvements fixed an issue where bind demons additional damage bonus was greater than intended, so a little nerf there. Fixed an issue where sigil death would consume mana when it failed to cast. Fixed an issue where plus X to fire skills was not being applied to Sigil Death. Uh, fixed an issue where uh Miasma Chain had missile collision on neutral and friendly units. That's kind of funny. Just yeah, yeah. Fix an issue where the player could get stuck in leaps landing animation. That's only barbs, right?
SPEAKER_00There's no Now did this actually affect gameplay, or did was it just a visual thing where you look like you were like superhero landing or something the whole time?
SPEAKER_02No, I think he I think he literally got got stuck.
SPEAKER_00Oh that that's unfortunate.
SPEAKER_01I always use leap, I always use leap attack anyway, so yeah, kind of a weird thing, but and they fixed it.
SPEAKER_02Alright, um, fixed an issue where bosses could lose their AI behavior.
SPEAKER_00I think I know what this is in reference to. Yes. Remember that thing with the boss where if you had that one item and it added all the different damage types and then they went off screen and he wouldn't attack. I think this is what that's for.
SPEAKER_01100%. Yep. As soon as I saw it as I said up, they fixed the gimmick thread bug. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Fixed an issue where council members as heralds would not drop anything. That's rough. Uh fixed an issue where keys could not be bought in bulk uh from Hrotley when using a controller. Fixed an issue very specific. That's very specific. Very, very specific. Yeah. Fixed an issue where off-screen item names could briefly appear on screen when moving around.
SPEAKER_01Happens all the time.
SPEAKER_02Fixed various issues where items would not display properly in the chronicle. I you know, I noticed. Yeah, I don't a lot of these I don't think I've actually seen, but fixed an issue where the chronicle item eligibility message could uh display even if the item was already registered. Haven't seen that. Uh I wonder if these are I wonder if some of these are a lot of these are console.
SPEAKER_01They just didn't say I'll tell you though, there there are some instances where I've seen an item that didn't show as a as a chronicle for me, but I was in a game with, you know, like my son, for example. When I got back to town, he got credit for the chronicle, even though it didn't tell me that he was eligible.
SPEAKER_02He was eligible. Oh, interesting. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So I and I I don't know if anyone reported that, and so maybe they haven't seen it, but maybe I should, I guess. But um if it happens again, if I see it happen again, I'll report it. I should and I should have.
SPEAKER_02And then lastly, fix an issue where chronicle item eligibility message would not display in eight-player games. So, you know, they fixed some bugs, they made some tweaks to Terra Zones, Colossal Ancients, Thunder Charms, and some item stuff.
SPEAKER_00So I think we're gonna see a few more patches before we even see Terra Zones and Colossal get them kind of honed into where they want them exactly. So I'm glad they're working on it, but I think we still have some getting through the woods to do before it's where they want it.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Yeah, we'll see how we'll see how that plays out. So this is what in four days that the season ends, and then the next Friday, season 15, we'll start. 11 days. Yeah. We're gonna take a quick break, and when we get back, we'll just talk about a few things from the Reddit, and then we'll close it out. We'll be right back. So, for the next segment here, um, I thought we could quickly touch on a few posts that I made on the subreddit um and talk about some of the answers uh quickly here. So, first one was uh if you were responsible for choosing the next character class, Blizzard adds, what would it be and why? Now, of course, and and I agree, don't get me wrong, the the intention of this wasn't that they should just jump to adding another character class, but the top answer uh with the top number of up votes uh was. I would choose to make necros and druids better before adding another class. Hard agree, but not not the point of the exercise. So going on to let's see. Again, the next top answer was they'd rather see them fix existing classes. The next comment here is in this thread, people who have seen Diablo 3 characters. So the there were there are a bunch of other responses that uh I don't think we'll touch on all of them, but uh there were a lot of responses in here that were kind of just like out there that don't really fit the uh so did anyone actually offer up a true, you know, class concept? Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm getting there. There there's there's a lot of junk in here. The first one here is cleric. Um, they say a white mage holy caster archetype, which is kind of interesting. Um, I guess that would be similar cleric slash priest uh type of character. Another answer here, let's see a mage class that uses arcane spells instead of elemental ones that are used by Sork. Alchemist. I just like I've seen Alchemist come up a few times in other places, in other threads, and it's just like I get it, but also like you're throwing what like you're throwing potions at monsters. It just it it I'm sure that you could do something a little bit more extravagant, but it just I would find it less believable that you would be able to combat demons in hell with throwing potions. It just doesn't doesn't sit right with me. Um but maybe I'm alone on that one.
SPEAKER_00I think too, Warlock kind of has the arcane thing covered.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's yeah. Shaman style class that drops totems, kind of like Wind Fury or Elemental Shaman from Classic or Burning Crusade. Wow. Uh yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna have to disagree. That's kind of like um a buff character. And yeah, I mean I remember that Wind Fury and Elemental Shaman did a lot of damage and stuff too, but it feels more like a support class. A monk. I always I always felt like a female monk would be interesting. Like it kind of breaks um, I guess the the typical monk iteration, like in in D3. And of course, there's mentions of Witch Doctor and Death Knight. Again, more fix Necro and Druid first. We get it. I agree. A Wanderer class that picks three skill trees from each of the existing classes, a mixture of a few different talent trees.
SPEAKER_01That's interesting because the as a as you're going through these, the thought that keeps coming through my head is when you think about the diversity of spells and trees that we have right now. I don't know if I could pick out a unique class. I'm impressed that they gave the warlock so many things that are relatively new and unique. Um, even though, and some of them are obviously, you know, they're like very close or almost exact clones of other skills, like you know, binding demon is essentially binding, you know, it's essentially raising skeletons, just a different name. But I thought about that, and you know, yeah, I I I think if they're gonna add a new class, maybe you take a you know, like a hybrid kind of thing, and you you say you pull actual skills and put them together to make a new class.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there's a bunch of line there. No, that's right. There, and there's a bunch of uh off-the-wall stuff like hot dog vendor, Apache helicopter, uh um genie.
SPEAKER_00Jin would be interesting.
SPEAKER_02Casino pit boss. I I don't understand. Well one thing that I thought could be interesting, uh, along the lines of you know, people are always talking about how they need to get rid of teleport from an from Enigma and whatever. And you know, the warlock got the blade throw, like kind of teleport. I thought it'd be interesting if they introduced and certainly there are are potential ways they could do it for other classes as well, but specifically for Amazon, I think it would be really cool if there was uh because their cast rates are so terrible, um like using Enigma on them is painful to teleport on and maybe maybe that's kind of a trade-off, right? Like we need to make sure that the uh the character classes do have trade-offs. Amazons have terrible cast rates or uh cast frame rates. I think it would be cool if they could teleport by shooting an arrow or throwing a javelin so that like they would appear after, you know, maybe so much distance that it travels or seconds that it travels. They would basically imbue themselves into an arrow and they shoot it, and when they shoot it, they travel with the arrow and then uh uh show up wherever the arrow is when when they when the time runs out, or whatever the case might be. Uh, I just thought that that might be kind of a neat way to to handle that. And you certainly you could do something like that with the other classes. Uh throw barbs, for example, like you could do a similar thing. So uh any kind of ranged attack could be translated to something like that if if you know they truly were going to do away with Enigma, which I I don't think they will, but they might. It just it I think it completely depends on how big of a how big of a change they're going to be making, um maybe announced at Blue's Con or, you know, in the future, whatever, if they redo a lot of the the class trees, you know, the there's just there's a lot of unknowns right now. There are a lot of unknowns. So uh but I just thought that that could be an interesting way to address the teleport thing.
SPEAKER_00It's interesting you say that uh Baldur's Gate 3 has arrows that do that. It's called uh arrows of transposition.
SPEAKER_02Oh interesting. I've never played that.
SPEAKER_01I'm curious to see though, and this this speaks to a larger question. When you look at Enigma and its impact on gameplay, is it something where we're looking at it from a very small vantage point? It it speaks to another argument that we had uh that I had with one of our uh Discord members. You know, if you look too closely at just a single aspect of the game, then you know you may you may wind up making changes that don't benefit others. And my thought process is that Enigma is a real rarity for legitimate offline players. I know people can use hero editors, but if somebody was is not cheating themselves and is playing the game truly, Enigma offline, very difficult to do. Um if you're playing a solo self-found, very difficult to do. Hardcore, difficult to do because there's a lot of risks with you know grouping up with other people. Obviously, Enigma becomes more ubiquitous on non-ladder when everybody has wealth and it's just keeps piling up. To me, I always wonder is it is it something that needs to get changed? I I think a lot of people who don't want it are people who don't want to put in the effort to get one or feel like they're never going to get one because of those issues, and so it's kind of a sour grapes thing. And I'm just curious, like like what's your take on it? You you have a lot of higher-level characters, you have probably way more experience at the end game where Enigma is more of a commonplace item. What's your thought on in that regard? And and I'd like to hear his take on that.
SPEAKER_02My yeah, my take is if you don't want to use Enigma, don't. Someone else using Enigma doesn't affect you directly unless you're playing uh in a group with people you don't know. Yep. And then you're kind, you know, you're kind of competing for loot, but that that's just the nature of how the game is, and I don't want them to change the nature of the game because then you get into discussions about you know private or uh having personal loot, and like you know, people are still throwing that out there, and I just like no, no, no. Because one of the things that sets this game apart is that it's not made, the rules of the game are not made using modern game theory or you know, whatever you want to call it. That's why I think it's so good, and you know, you start going down a path where it fundamentally is no longer following the rules that made it great, and that continue to to you know bring people in to play the game. You know, I I just I don't think that Enigma should go away. Um, but I think for those of the fol for those folks that don't want to use that or are unable to attain it uh with their the limited time that they have, putting in um alternatives for increased mobility, I think, uh isn't outside the realm of what's realistic um or what what could be done, uh that that still you know with operates within the bounds of of the framework within D2. One part of it is there's a whole contingent of folks that uh greatly disliked patch 1.10 where they introduced RuneWords.
SPEAKER_01Um that was a long time ago, too.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, and so they just straight up hate it. There's nothing you could do to change their minds. Um, and the great news is if that's how you feel, you can still play those old games. There's no reason to force everybody else to play the way that you want.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think uh you hit on pretty much all the points. Like you brought up even like the arguments and stuff, you know, personal loot, whatever, it worked in Diablo 3. If you want that, go play Diablo 3. I I enjoyed it when I played it, but I don't want this game to become that game. I think that if you don't want to use it, then don't use it. And if the issue is you might run into people who are using it and you're super against it, there's single cell found offline. You know, like there's there you have options. I don't think it needs to go anywhere. And if they do decide that it's going to go somewhere, then the trade-off needs to be, like you said, mobility, whether it's the arrow transposition or you know, the barb throw that's a smart thing too, or you know, some even some silly because they're known for shouting, he shouts so loud he creates a singularity that poofs them somewhere else. Like there just needs to be something because so many of the classes are just they can't cover the same ground, and as it is, the sorceresses can already do that natively, and the clear rate that they have can blow a lot of the other classes out of the water. So if you're looking at having, you know, uh what if you want to call it like a magic find per hour, you're gonna get outclassed by the sorceress every time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and and just to be clear, I'm not advocating that um that they make all the teleports or the you know different various ways of mobility, improving mobility. I'm not saying it needs to be on the same level as far as speed across across all the classes, because one of the things that is nice that I like about the game is that there is variability, there are trade-offs, like with a Javazon, for example, the cast rates are breakpoints are so terrible for Javazon, but you know, there isn't another character where you can go into cows and throw, you know, use one attack and it kills literally everything. Right. The variability makes it nice. I'm not suggesting that every class has an improved mobility that's on par with the sorceress. Like part of the allure of the sorceress is that it that's how that's where the sorceress, you know, that's their wheelhouse, right? Yes, you know, that's okay. Um, but again, I would say like the the blade throw or whatever it's called that the warlock has is still limited, right? You can't go all the way across the screen, it's limited in distance, uh it doesn't go through walls, right? So stuff like that, I think if if they do add something like that for every class, those kinds of things need to be considered. Uh but I wouldn't I wouldn't say no, don't do it because tell uh because uh Enigma already exists. I think it would be a nice middle of the road option for folks that don't or can't or aren't willing to use Enigma, you know, at least gives them some increased mobility.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I can agree with all that.
SPEAKER_02The next uh Reddit post, my question was a poll. It says uh finish act four, add act six, both or neither. The results I would say probably not unexpected. The both received the majority close to 50%, and then followed by finish act four, then add act six, and then neither. I guess to me it's not surprising, it's kind of what I would have expected if I were to just say if I were to just make up a poll and like put in fake numbers based on what I thought how people would answer. It's pretty much how it how it played out.
SPEAKER_01And I do need to give you props for putting in neither. Shows your respect for the grumpy old man contingent of the Reddit.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. Which which did get roughly 10% of the vote. So those are the uh purists that want to play patch 1.09. I guess I just want to see if there was anything in here worthwhile talking about. Let's see, I'm mostly concerned here that adding act six will be another expansion and split the player base again. I think finishing act four, on the other hand, is something they should just do and not charge for it. Uh I agree. Um I think again we've we'd already did the speculation episode, but I think if they were to add act four, I think it would be in addition to the Reign of the Warlock expansion, like it would be included for that cost. Like they wouldn't charge anything additional. Act six, you know, I can't imagine that they won't uh charge for that, but uh it's possible. It is like there's just so much in up in the air. Um you know, we don't know the actual economics of how much money they made and and all that. Is it enough to make them uh be willing to do additional stuff for free beyond what they've already done? All that kind of stuff is yet to be seen. But I think we'll get some answers at BlizzCon. And of course, there's always the guy that says people who hate change just go play classic D2. This one's interesting. Uh I picked both, but if I had to choose, I would probably choose finish act four first before tackling an act six, which is uh which would uh in their opinion require a full expansion's worth of content to justify. Whatever doesn't throw the vibe off or break the game. Again, everything that uh I think about as far as future changes, and I know we've harped on it a lot, it still needs to make sense and feel like it's part of the game. Right. That's not like shoehorned in there and change things drastically. Because there's just there's just a way that things work in D2. And anything that is new needs to fit within that within that framework. I I have to interject real quick.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, go ahead. So there's a scene in Braveheart where William Wallace wins this major battle or helps him win a major battle, and he's got uh, you know, all of the Scottish nobles there, they give him title and whatever. He's you know imploring them, let's let's get you know, let's work together to, you know, for Scotland and and you know, we'll you know, we all these things. Out of nowhere, some of the other nobles just run up and they start fighting and squabbling with each other about uh, you know, land rights and water lights and water rights and whatever, you know, and then and then you know just it develops into this, you know, petty squabbling everywhere. And looking at your post here about Nech 4 and Ech 6, and I just see some responses where people just throw in uh complaining about you know uh Enigma or uh you know asking about clash changes and stuff, and I'm just like that's not what he was asking.
SPEAKER_02Every every post on Reddit is that that's crazy, yeah. Every like you know, it you could ask the simplest question that's like a yes or no or whatever. And is the sky blue?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I mean and someone will come in nerf warlocks, yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_02Like just completely, completely unrelated. Um that's that's the internet, all right. And so lastly, I wanted to touch on uh this post that I made earlier today, and it's titled Best Diablo to burn. And I I said, if you're going to insult someone using D2 or D2R references, what would it be? And I said, I'll I'll go first. And mine was I bet your stash and inventory are disorganized. You know, the intention here isn't to be like mean for the sake of being mean, it's like you know, being subtle about it. Um but um top answer uh with the number top number of upvotes was not even Kane wants you to stay a while and listen. I thought that was I thought that was pretty good. Um another one, uh you put your weapon in the left hand slot. It's a monster, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Just all the and then you get all the well actually people coming in after that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02For sure. Um, you're as useless as a shrine in chaos sanctuary. Bravo. Africa Africa 204. You that was a good one. You win. Yes. Even Charcy doesn't want your junk. Um, you play softcore because you enjoy the experience. Oof. You're about as useful as a curse skiller. Uh yeah, they're pretty useless. Oh. I saw it. I'd say you're as useful as a cracked sash, but at least that holds potion.
SPEAKER_01They were close. Okay. They were close. They were close. Oh, yeah. Uh I I bet you they I bet you they don't listen to the podcast.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, probably not. But that that that hit really close to home. Uh, I don't know why you even wear a helmet. There's nothing to protect up there.
SPEAKER_00I like it.
SPEAKER_02Uh, yo mama so fat when she went to the lost city, she caused the eclipse. Ah shit. And then also, I do like that the haiku bot chimed in and and turned that statement into a haiku. It goes, Yo mama so fat when she went to the lost city, she caused the eclipse. Bravo. Bravo. Beautiful.
SPEAKER_01You're as useful as a durial drop.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah, I feel like there's there's like there's gotta be some good ones that in that space. Um, you're so ugly they rejected you for the D2R character models. Uh people really, really hated the character model.
SPEAKER_01They sure did.
SPEAKER_02I bet you allocate your stat points evenly. And that's it's like it's so subtle, but also like because you can do things, but in the end you're still useless. Yeah. Uh anyway, there's a whole bunch of well, I'll I'll put links to the the three uh Reddit posts, um, as well as the a link to the uh patch changes. If anyone hasn't seen that, I'll I'll put it in in the description here on the video. I guess that pretty much covers everything. This is a quick one. We just wanted to touch on a few things. I guess I'll mention that, and I think I mentioned at the end of the last podcast, uh, but we we will be doing uh uh a showcase of tool builders uh in an upcoming episode. I wanted to try and squeak it in for BlizzCon, but I'm not sure that's gonna happen. So we'll probably do our next episode will probably be BlizzCon specific stuff, uh like post-Bli excuse me, post-BlizzCon, where we will talk about whatever news comes from that, and then uh include hopefully some interviews and sound bites with um with folks there, kind of just like a report back on our experience type thing. And then after that we'll probably do the tool builder episode. Um so we kind of had to move things around a little bit based on you know the the patch notes here coming out. I initially I kind of was thinking that maybe they wouldn't announce the patch um or the next ladder season until after until after BlizzCon, but uh didn't didn't play out that way.
